Different cultures and religions around the world celebrate matrimony in different ways. Muslim weddings take place over multiple days, with the ceremony on one day and the reception or banquet on another day. The ceremony consists of the Immam (Muslim Priest) praying over the groom and the bride’s guardian. After which, they are wed and groom may now pick-up his wife located in a separate place.
Ahh, San Agustin Church. I remember shooting my very first wedding within its walls. It’s baroque feel, rocky texture and beautiful garden makes it a popular choice among brides. Every year, San Agustin Church never fails to bring me back to where I first started and proud to say that the photos get better and better each time I return.
I know I’ve said this sometime before, but I’ll say it again. Shooting as a second shooter is different and worthwhile experience in itself. As a second shooter, your responsibilities are different from that of the main shooter. You have to be mindful of what the main shooter is doing, once that’s established it would a good idea to take an alternate angle of whatever set-up he’s doing.
Covering an Iglesia wedding was an interesting experience for me. A very unique trait of their ceremony is that it is spoken in fluent and straight Filipino, something which one rarely hears these days.
